local fractures and connections

“Local Fractures and Connections” is intended to be exhibited on a mound of local organic soil with live native flora/plants. Many plants have far reaching connectivity and communication both above and below ground which can include inter and intra-species links. How are anthropogenic fractures affecting these vital networks? Are the voids and strifes of vegetative connection a reflection of human society? This work incorporates deeply excavated mineral soil and rocks from the Intermountain Western US. Stoneware, mineral soils, rocks, slips, glazes fired to 2350F in oxidation. Boxelder (Acer negundo) branches. 24” diameter at widest by 10” highest.
